VISITOR ARRIVALS IN JANUARY 2010

 

Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) during the Month of January 2010 were 4.911akh as compared to FTAs of 4.22 lakh during the month of January 2009 and 5.12 lakh in January 2008. There has been a growth of 16.4% in January 2010 over January 2009 as compared to a negative growth of 17.6% registered in January 2009 over January 2008. To a large extent, the trend of substantial growth in FTAs observed during December, 2009 (21 %) continued in January, 2010 also with a growth rate of 16.4%. Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEE) from Tourism in Indian Rupee terms and US $ terms.

 

FEE during the month of January of India 2010 were Rs. 5593 crore as compared to Rs. 4598 crore III January 2009 and Rs. 5438 crore in January 2008.
